Zoloft Caused Mother to Want to Kill Her Newborn
As reported by CBS 11 News, a mother has started a crusade against antidepressants after being prescribed Zoloft after her son’s birth. After taking the drug she recalled:
“As I walked past the stairs, I could see on the corner of my eyes what looked like me standing on the stairs holding him and then tossing him the rest of the way down to the bottom of the stairs.”
Funny enough, her life returned to normal once she stopped taking Zoloft.

Prozac, the bestselling antidpressant taken by over 40 million people, doesn’t work along with similar drugs in the same class.
As reported by the Guardian, patients improved the same amount when taking the placebo.
So given the link between anti-depressants, suicides, and school shootings, why would anyone take them???

Science Proves Antidepressants Addictive. Withdrawal Unbearable For Some.
As psychiatry and the giant pharmaceutical companies fight to create a PR spin that antidepressants are harmless non-addictive drugs – the truth is beginning to come out showing the dangers of these drugs. Along with horrific side effects these drugs produce while you take them, they are now proving for some people to be nearly impossible to stop taking. As this article by the Associated Press proves many patients experience terrible antidepressant withdrawal so severe that some appear to be hooked on antidepressants for life.
The Associated Press article provides an example of one of the victims side effects and withdrawal symptoms. In the article they state:
“When Gina O’Brien decided she no longer needed drugs to quell her anxiety and panic attacks, she followed doctor’s orders by slowly tapering her dose of the antidepressant Paxil. The gradual withdrawal was supposed to prevent unpleasant symptoms that can result from stopping antidepressants cold turkey. But it didn’t work
“I felt so sick that I couldn’t get off my couch,” O’Brien said. “I couldn’t stop crying.”
Overwhelmed by nausea and uncontrollable crying, she felt she had no choice but to start taking the pills again. More than a year later the Michigan woman still takes Paxil, and expects to be on it for the rest of her life.��?
Taking Antidepressants is not an option for many patients because it means putting up with side-effects such as weight gain, sexual dysfunction, suicidal thoughts and even psychosis. For women who want to have children it’s a risky choice; scientists have provided proof of withdrawal in newborns whose mothers were taking antidepressants, and some of these drugs (like Paxil) have been linked to birth defects.
In Europe it is officially recognized that these drugs have addictive qualities and withdrawing from them can give side effects and withdrawal symptoms. In December 2004 Britain’s drug regulatory agency issued a report that warned that all antidepressants “may be associated with withdrawal” and noted that Paxil and Effexor “seem to be associated with a greater frequency of withdrawal reactions.”
In addition, the American Academy Of Family Physicians report of a recent study that showed 20% of all patients who try to quit their antidepressants experience withdrawal. Or as they call it “Antidepressant Discontinuation Syndrome��?. 20% seems to be a very conservative number considering that others are reporting withdrawal figures from antidepressants to be as high as 78%.
In this news story on antidepressant withdrawal by NBC news in Grand Rapids, MI it is stated that:
“A number of patients have reported extreme reactions to discontinuing the drugs. Two of the best-selling antidepressants have led to so many complaints that some doctors avoid prescribing them altogether.��?
Personally, that seems like the smartest choice for doctors to make – Just stop prescribing these drugs altogether.
The smartest choice for patients would similarly be to never start taking these drugs in the first place. After all: Psychiatry has publicly stated that they don’t really know what these drugs are doing to your brain. Studies show side effects from these drugs can be life threatening like suicide and psychosis. Then when you decide you can’t handle all the side effects you find you’re addicted and can’t stop taking them.
That’s just my common sense view of these drugs. After all, didn’t they teach us in school to: “Just Say No��?.

Man Jumps Off Golden Gate Bridge After Taking Psychiatric Drugs
I came across this article about Kevin Hines who is lobbying to get a barrier placed on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to stop suicidal people from jumping. I found it admirable that he’s trying to do something to prevent others from committing suicide. However, it seems that both the reporter from Time and Kevin have both missed a very important issue.
In the article it quotes Kevin as saying:
“I was on medication for two years, 1998 to 2000. In 2000, I graduated in June from high school. All C’s. I went to this doctor, and I had therapy every week, but I began to get worse again. I was on 14 pills a day at that time.”
Then twice he becomes suicidal enough to act on it and makes two suicide attempts. The second time he jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge and shattered 2 of his vertebrae, but luckily survived.
It is just me? Or do you find it strange that if psychiatric medication worked that after two years of taking “14 pills a day” to cure his mental problems - shouldn’t he get better… and not worse?
Not only does he get worse - he actually tries to kill himself twice!
After all the black box warnings and major media coverage about how antidepressants cause a big increase in suicidal thoughts - people still seem to miss the obvious point.
The past decades are marked by skyrocketing antidepressant use and an ever increasing availability of psychiatric treatment. Somehow this magically coincides with an increasing suicide rate. I don’t know about you, but when I try something and it makes the situation worse instead of better - I stop doing it.
Isn’t it time that our society wakes up and stops using harmful psychiatric practices like antidepressant drugging? Isn’t it time that insurance companies aren’t forced to pay for experimental treatments like antidepressant medication? After all, even psychiatrists will openly admit that they have no idea what causes depression and they have no real idea how antidepressants “work”.

Drug Company & the FDA Finally Admit Paxil Causes Increased Suicide Risk
After years of repeated warnings by groups like the Citizens Commission On Human Rights – the United States FDA & the drug company Glaxo Smith Kline (the maker of Paxil) have admitted that patients taking Paxil have a dramatic increase in suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide. This being such a horrible side effect you would think they should have told you this earlier when they first found out about it.
In fact, its an increase of over 600%!!! Would you like to take a drug that makes you six times more likely to kills yourself? How about it you are depressed and seeking help for suicidal thoughts already? Yet that’s exactly what Paxil is prescribed for!
In an article by the LA times it is mentioned that several antidepressants like Paxil were already required to carry a “black box��? warning about the increase of suicidal thoughts in children taking these drugs, but these recent findings now indicate that adults are also at risk. In the article a representative for the maker of the antidepressant Paxil said: “At some point, the FDA is going to say what their analysis shows across the category “ Are they finally admitting that antidepressants all have this horrific side effect? We’ve been warning about this for a long time and I’m happy they are finally being forced to admit the truth.
It seems that Glaxo Smith Kline has been aware of this problem since before the drug even had FDA approval. This article by the Sierra Times reviews the fact on how the drug makers have been secretly settling out of court with anyone who complains of these types of strong side effects and death. The terms of these settlements make the victims to remain silent and not disclose what happened. Thus preventing the public and the FDA from finding out about all the people who kill themselves taking these types of drugs.
In the article it mentions: “Glaxo currently faces thousands of lawsuits over Paxil side effects related to addiction, dependence, and a severe withdrawal syndrome.
SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) like Paxil, are not addictive in the sense that “an individual would mortgage their livelihoods and all they hold dear for further supplies of the drug,��? according to Dr David Healy MD, FRCPsych, North Wales Department of Psychological Medicine
SSRIs can hook patients in the sense of making you “physically dependent,��? he explains. “
I did a little research and found the actual report on the FDA website. You can click here to find the report on Paxil’s risk of suicide as a side effect. In the report it says Results of this analysis showed a higher frequency of suicidal behavior in young adults “. On the FDA’s page is a link to a Glaxo Smith Kline document. The US FDA is now warning that Paxil, a commonly used antidepressant, causes birth defects in newborn children when their mothers take Paxil during pregnancy.
The Washington Post reveals that Paxil causes heart defects in pregnant mothers unborn children. Yet another reason for pregnant mothers to never take an antidepressant.
The Washington Post also reported that “an earlier study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the babies of mothers taking antidepressants were three times more likely to suffer from irritability, tremors and seizures in the weeks after birth”.
Much of this information was not being broadly discussed in the press, but because of the recent fiasco over huge increases in suicide risks caused by antidepressants and other psychiatric drug warnings - the media is now starting to pay attention. Psychiatric drugs are scientifically unproven to cure anything and are extremely harmful to the patients taking them.
As you might remember, Tom Cruise & Brooke Shields had a vocal conflict in the headlines over the use of antidepressants to “treat” mothers who become depressed during or after pregnancy. Some in the media were critical or even made fun of Mr. Cruise for this. It now turns out: Tom was 100% correct. These drugs are bad for both the children and the mothers!
Paxil is one of the world’s most popular antidepressants, taken by tens of millions of patients since the drug was approved in 1993. It is also sold now in generic form as paroxetine. Can you imagine the scope of damage that this drug has caused over the years? How many children with birth defects and mental problems caused by Paxil have been born so far? How many millions have been caused psychosis, suicidal thoughts or even death by suicide induced from Paxil and other drugs like it? Isn’t it time to stop these harmful psychiatric drugs once and for all?

Brain Scans Fail To Prove Psychiatric Disorders
Proving psychiatry’s failure the New York Times today ran an article describing how psychiatrists have oversold the idea that brain imaging scans can somehow prove the existence of their many theoretical diseases. The NY Times reports: “After almost 30 years, researchers have not developed any standardized tool for diagnosing or treating psychiatric disorders based on imaging studies.” and “imaging technology has not lived up to the hopes invested in it in the 1990’s - labeled the “Decade of the Brain” by the American Psychiatric Association”.
The underlying theory behind modern psychiatry is that all mental and emotional problems are brain diseases often caused by a chemical imbalance. The only problem is that not one of these diseases have ever been proven to exist based on hard scientific evidence. These diseases are just theories. To make matters worse prominent psychiatrists have even admitted that they have no real scientific way to test for these brain disorders and chemical imbalances in the first place!
Add to that the media barrage with all the side effects of psychiatric drugs like antidepressants and anti adhd drugs. This year has seen FDA warning after FDA warning about how psychaitric drugs are causing people to commit suicide. The other side effects from these drugs don’t sound very appealing either. Things like psychosis, sexual dysfunction and weight gain are just a few of them.
Chock up another embarrassment for the APA out of the dozens they have experienced this year. Psychiatry and big pharmaceutical companies have suffered by having their humiliating failures exposed in the media.recently. It seems every day I am running across something new. One day it’s how many of their diseases are just theories and have never been proven to exist and then the next I read an article about how psychiatric drugs are causing children to kill themselves. The truth about psychiatry is out there - if you choose to look for it.
I don’t think it will be much longer before the entire population sees psychiatry for the failure that it is.

Psychiatrists Abusing Patients In Turkish Psychiatric Hospitals
In a description that sounded more like a dungeon torture chamber this article covers the horrific abuse of patients in psychiatric hospitals in Turkey. The story also quoted a report investigating these human rights violations. The report included such comments as:
“Investigators observed children emaciated from starvation,” and “Staff reported children dying from starvation and dehydration.”
Patients are “subjected to treatment practices that are tantamount to torture,”
The group said electric shock therapy were “massively overused in Turkish psychiatric facilities in cases for which there is no clinically proven justification,” and that they were used as a form of punishment.
“(Electric shock) without the use of anesthesia and muscle relaxants violates all internationally accepted medical standards,” the report said.
The head of this psychiatric hospital is quoted as stating that 40-60 patients undergo electric shock treatment every day. He is also quoted as saying:
“(Electric shock) is harmless, it is even safer to give (it) to a pregnant woman with depression than medication,”
The report on these human rights violations concluded with: “As the European Union meets to consider Turkey’s human rights record … we ask them to demand action by the government of Turkey to end these human rights violations,”.
One common misconception is that treatment like this is isolated to a few psychiatric hospitals in third world countries. That could not be further from the truth. Barbaric treatments like electric shock are used in the United States on as many as 100,000 patients every year.
Electric shock is a violent brain damaging treatment. Such a high amount of electricity is used that muscles spasms and convulsions can actually cause physical damage to the patient. That is why psychiatrists give the person being shocked a heavy dose of muscle relaxants and anesthesia. Many patients complain of long term memory loss. I’ve even heard of cases where they lose all memories of their own families.
It’s time to stop the brutal therapy of electric shock treatment once and for all. It doesn’t matter if it’s in Turkey or California, this should never happen to anyone.

ADHD Drug Strattera Causes Suicidal Thoughts In Children
The drug manufacturer Eli Lilly is admitting today that their drug Strattera prescribed to treat ADHD and hyperactivity causes children to have suicidal thoughts. This is after the FDA requested that Eli Lilly provide the data that they apparently had not disclosed showing the link between suicide and this ADHD drug. After reviewing this information the FDA seems to have requested that Strattera carry a warning on it’s label.
Based on the information that Lilly provided on Strattera the statistics are staggering. If you take the total number of children being treated for ADHD and hyperactivity with drugs like these (over 5 million kids) you get some frightening numbers. Assuming that similar drugs have the same side effects there are tens of thousands of kids experiencing suicidal thoughts from these drugs. Statistically using the same figures thatEli Lilly provided in their press release you get these numbers:
20,000 children have been having suicidal thoughts as a direct side effects of their medication. The most horrific number is the nearly 4,000 children who have likely acted on these thoughts and attempted suicide. Who knows how many of the 4,000 were successful.
This is an enormous amount of damage. Think of the preschoolers who are on this drug. Imagine a poor 6 year old child experiencing suicidal thoughts. Now imagine 20,000 of them! it’s almost too terrible to believe.
Facts like these are everywhere when it comes to psychiatric drugs and treatments. All you need to do is look in the news and go beyond the psychiatric drug companies propaganda. The facts are there to be seen. Their treatments cause suicide and psychosis as direct side effects. The amount of damage they are inflicting on society and our children is immeasurable. It’s time that psychiatry and the drug companies pay for this damage and are stopped from harming our kids once and for all.

Tom Cruise Is Right About Child Psychiatric Drugs
I recently read an article in the LA Times about Tom Cruise and his fight against psychiatry. The article points out the truth behind his message against psychiatry’s drugging of children and the fact that two other major celebrities are self acknowledged victims of psychiatry’s betrayal of children. The article says: “WHEN TOM CRUISE and his fellow Scientologists took a hammering earlier this year for their public opposition to psychiatric drugs, neither they nor their critics could have anticipated the releases in July and August of two weighty reports offering evidence that at least some psychiatric prescription-writing has run amok.”
The article goes on to say:
“If these two reports by Columbia University’s National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, or CASA, have it right, more kids than ever have their fingers — and sometimes their noses — in somebody else’s psychiatric prescription pill bottle.”
In this article the author of the reports on child prescription drug abuse is quoted as saying “Particularly alarming is the 212% increase from 1992 to 2003 in the number of 12- to 17-year-olds abusing controlled prescription drugs, and the number of teens trying these drugs for the first time.”
“The explosion in the prescription of addictive opioids, depressants and stimulants has, for many children, made the medicine cabinet a greater temptation and threat than the illegal street drug dealer, as some parents have become unwitting and passive pushers.”
The damage done to children is twofold: One - these drugs themselves have strong and damaging side effects and Two - The abuse of these drugs is also just as damaging as abusing any street drug.
Two music supstars are prime examples of the child drugging phenomenon:
Kurt Cobain was prescribed Ritalin at the age of 7. He believed that the drug led to his later abuse of illegal street drugs. He then committed suicide with a shotgun in 1994. Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, is quoted as describing it this way: “Kurt’s own opinion, as he later told her, was that the drug was significant. Courtney, who also was prescribed Ritalin as a child, said: ‘When you’re a kid and you get this drug that makes you feel that [euphoric] feeling, where else are you going to turn when you’re an adult?’ ”
Rap phenomenon Eminem, is another prominent victim of the label-and-medicate technique used by psychiatry. Rolling Stone reported that he was misdiagnosed with attention deficit disorder by his mother. He was then drugged with Ritalin.
As the LA Times says: “It seems almost too perverse to be true: Cobain’s and Eminem’s fans might get a stronger anti-stimulant message from their icons’ examples than from their own parents, teachers and doctors.”
